I. Project's Diary #6

6th week

As shared in week 5, the studio is starting to be busy with other projects, so the progress of 300475 will be affected.

However, we continue to move forward, not standing still.

3D artists continue to perfect the characters of American soldiers and liberation soldiers according to the suggestions of those who have a deep understanding of the costumes.

Although stated, 300475 will not be a history game, but just a game built to inspire learning about history.

Hiker still takes the most serious approach to the details in the game. Not a perfectionist, but absolutely not over the top.

In the past, when we worked at 7554, we struggled to find a way to recreate the whole town of Dong Khe in the most authentic way, because we were obsessed with two words of history, and then as a result, how much effort was wasted for that. Go.

It even becomes a burden to design the game so that it is reasonable with that true historical context. This, will not repeat at 300475.

But not because of that, the studio will be negligent in its approach to extras, weapons, weapons, and other historical materials.

Get into designing tank

Last week, we also took a few small steps forward with the teaser video. The studio has completed the rough design of the environment.

And the programmers have done a few simple AI controls for the design.

First lines of code worked.


In terms of game designing, we have basically completed the compilation of materials for the first 3 levels.

Next, the team will begin to design the full gameplay of these 3 levels, before translating it into detailed support requests to the dev team to start building the prototype.

Note, this is still the process of building an experimental game, in order to improve the understanding and establish the right direction of the project.

It's still not a real production step, folks.

The studio is also revising the English part of the website, after receiving many comments from foreigners. Currently, because the project has not focused on persuading foreigners for support, the English content still has many limitations and shortcomings. Hiker will gradually fix it.


II. Project's Diary #7

Last week, we achieved some results as follows


In terms of character models, the studio has basically completed two "standard" characters of the liberation army and the American soldier.

Basically, ie the completion is about 50%, there is still a lot of work on the details, and also related to the process of putting the character model into the engine.

The studio calls standard characters, which means these characters, and the way they are implemented will be the standard for building other characters.

As you know, in the game there will be hundreds of different characters, from costumes to faces, physiques, depending on the period, army...

The characters' current clean costumes are also for convenience in comparison with historical documents. The detailed adjustments, will depend on the character of each level, each period...

Even though it's not complete, you'll probably agree, if 300475 is made, this will be the first game where our liberators are shown in the most perfect way on a PC game, a lot different from the games made by the Americans, right?

About the progress of Teaser Video.

The studio has almost completed the technical parts for the Teaser Video part.

Studio has also finished the rough part about environment, diagram, layout, spatial layout. But to complete each item, it will take a very long time, because the amount of work on graphics is very large.

In the following weeks, the studio will edit the raw video of Teaser Video, from which to re-evaluate what scenes need to be adjusted, where are points to pay attention to in terms of environment, characters, and post-production.

From this week, we will also start working on the prototype for level 1, so that the studio can evaluate many issues related to gameplay system, level design, AI, …


III. Project's Diary # 8

Over the past two weeks, the studio has continued to take small steps.


In terms of graphics, we started deploying the costumes of other branches of the US military.



With liberation soldiers, we continue to refine according to the comments of the community, and at the same time continue to make other versions for you.

Technically, the studio is focusing on the AI ​​system, and the tool to support the design of the level.


The good news, compared to 7554, we save a lot of time, for the following reasons:


- The experience left from 7554 is still extremely useful, many problems do not need to be studied from scratch. The logic of systems that support game design, applied to the 7554, is still valid today.


- Engine support is many times better than 7554.


There are many things that, at 7554, we spent years learning and building, now only need a few weeks to set up.


However, in return, expectations and desires will now be higher.

In general, the more detailed we develop, the more confident we are in the game of 300475. The nervous part will mainly lie in the "cinematic" experiences.


But with a time budget of 3 years, if implemented, we believe we will have the necessary support to perform well.


Also from this week, we decided to delay the project log update time to months, instead of weeks like now.


On the one hand, we want the community to know that we are still taking the project extremely seriously, but on the other hand, we understand that people's expectations have grown over time.


Meanwhile, with a huge amount of work, the time unit is equal to weeks, it is too short for us to make the progress commensurate with your expectations.


The studio wants the following announcements, which will be more impressive than the previous ones, to help speed up fundraising for the project.


We hope you understand and support this change.


If the project goes into production officially, the studio will return with a weekly update rhythm.


IV. Project's Diary # 9

The days when the Covid epidemic was raging in Vietnam had a great impact on all businesses.

Studio is no exception. The peculiarity of game work requires a lot of direct interaction, especially in discussion and exchange. Therefore, working from home is still very influential.

When the progress of all projects is reduced, of course the X30 is also affected. Even so, we are still moving forward.

We are also "impatient" and anxious to make better progress, but we have no choice but to continue to be patient.

For the past 4 weeks, 3D artists have continued to develop character models, equipment and accessories:

The animation team also stepped in to do the first animations.



Game Designers and programmers continue to work together to build AI systems.


Going into details, with much desire to drastically change the quality of AI, difficulties begin to manifest. We'll have to take it one step at a time.


Studio consults many documents, videos, and shares of leading studios on AI systems. But not everything is shared, we can only learn about the approach. To solve specific problems, the studio still had to do it themselves.


In addition, the programmer has also embarked on implementing the main mechanics of the first angle shooter. Compared to 10 years ago, shooting games have also had many adjustments. So x30 must also have the appropriate changes.


Fundraising progress has stalled, but the studio isn't worried about that at the moment.


We knew this in advance, and still focused on releasing the teaser video.


We still have 9 months to go to convince the community. Currently, the desire of the studio and many Vietnamese people is that we need to win the pandemic and return to normal life soon.


V. Project's Diary # 10

The most important decision - Officially choosing Unreal Engine

If the project goes into production, the studio will use Unreal Engine.

Using Unreal 4 or 5 will depend on the actual situation. Currently, Studio still uses Unreal 4 for the pre-feasibility research and construction steps.

As the studio shared when announcing the project, the studio needs time to research and evaluate before deciding which engine to use.

After 4 months of working with Unreal, the studio confidently concluded that Unreal was the most suitable choice for the project.


Last month, the studio continued to do the following things:


AI system development:

AI continues to make positive developments. Studio believes that the approach and problem solving for the AI ​​system is on the right track, overcoming many of the disadvantages of 7554.

Currently, AI workloads only deal with about 15% of the total workload, but this is a very important 15%.


AI test scene with more complex situations


Game designing:

The studio fixed the level of play to be 18, with an average total playing time of about 6 hours.

These 18 levels will spread across the battlefield, allowing players to role-play and experience many different armies such as: Infantry, Special Forces, Tank, Sniper, Air Force...

The story of the game, will approach in the direction of characterizing the characters, so that the player must feel the will to unify the country from the most simple people, regardless of region, origin, rank. The script will also pay attention to make everything feel as normal and natural as possible.

The good news is that we have found a partner to provide motion capture service in Vietnam, as soon as the distance between Hanoi and Hanoi ends, the studio will start experimenting with animations for the teaser trailer.


Other side jobs:


Studio has updated the English section according to many people's suggestions. However, the current English version is still not good enough from the point of view of Western experts.

Studio will continue to update better versions later.

Over the past time, the studio has also connected and exchanged with a number of domestic and foreign writers and screenwriters to ask for support for the project if it goes into production.

Although no agreement has been reached at the moment, because the project is too far from the set goal, the studio believes that, if the crowdfunding is successful, the project will have the participation of experts. reputation.
